How soon will I be flying in an electrically-propelled aircraft?
Please join us for a lively discussion of the future of electric aircraft propulsion (EAP), a topic that has been attracting rapidly growing attention from researchers, aerospace companies, NASA, and the international community of environmentalists and transportation experts. An exceptional group of panelists has agreed to participate in this event. All three panelists have specialized expertise in the EAP field based on many years of experience in both industry and academia, and all three have been elected to the US National Academy of Engineering (NAE). Facilitated by Dr. Thomas Jahns, Grainger Emeritus Professor of Power Electronics and Electric Machines, topics will range from the rationale for pursuing EAP, technology readiness and barriers, the state of international research and competition, and the projected timeline of electrically-propelled commercial aircraft. Opportunities for questions from the audience will be provided. We hope you will join us!
