April 29, 2022 Senior Aiden Ross’ paper recently accepted for publication in Advanced Electronic Materials journal Written By: Staff Departments: Materials Science & Engineering Categories: Students Aiden Ross Congratulations to MS&E graduating senior Aiden Ross, whose paper “Geometric control of domain structure stability in ferroelectric nanotubes” was recently accepted for publication in the high-impact journal Advanced Electronic Materials. Ross has been an exemplary undergraduate researcher during his time at UW-Madison. He began working with Assistant Professor Jiamian Hu in January 2020 after taking Hu’s course on the thermodynamics of materials. He is the winner of a Sophomore Research Fellowship, a Hilldale Research Fellowship, a recipient of a prestigious National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and maintained a 4.0 GPA through his college career. “Aiden has developed himself into an independent researcher over the past two years in my group. For this paper, he independently performed almost all the simulations and analysis and came up with the first draft,” says Hu. “I am highly impressed by his strong mathematical, computational, and presentation skills, critical thinking, passion for research, and perseverance. He will surely thrive in grad school.” Read more about Ross and fellow outstanding undergraduate researcher Celeo Mutate Diaz in this recent College of Engineering profile.
