October 19, 2022 Mechanical Engineering Accelerated Master’s Programs: Applications due December 15th Written By: Kassi Akers Departments: Mechanical Engineering Starting to think about post-graduation plans? Want to earn your master’s degree in roughly one-year’s time? Consider one of the Department of Mechanical Engineering’s accelerated master’s degree programs. You can earn a master’s degree and boost your career potential by staying just 12-16 more months on campus. Having a master’s degree can help you find more interesting work with better job titles and higher pay. Obtaining a master’s degree early can make a big impact on your career earnings and is usually much less complicated than returning to school after you’ve been working for a while. Tuition is $1,200 per credit, plus fees, for resident and non-resident students. The academic plan is coursework only, no thesis, and takes about 30 credit hours to graduate. Most students who enroll take three semesters to finish – fall, spring, and summer. This roughly equates to 12 credits in the fall, 12 credits in the spring, and 6 credits in the summer. UW-Madison mechanical engineering undergraduates can transfer up to 6 credits from applicable undergraduate courses, however. A huge advantage for UW-Madison students!
