Materials Science and Engineering Professor Michael Arnold has been named the 2018 Nanocarbons SES Research Young Investigator Award recipient. This early-career award is given by the Electrochemical Society’s Nanocarbons Division, the most prominent society in the field of nanocarbon materials. The award, established in 2007, recognizes outstanding early-career researchers in the field of field of fullerenes, carbon nanotubes, and nanostructures. In particular, it underscores the Arnold group’s outstanding and leading work on the materials science of semiconducting carbon nanotubes and graphene nanoribbbons. Arnold will receive the award at the annual spring meeting of the Electrochemical Society in Seattle, Washington, in March 2018 and give a presentation about his research.
