July 8, 2022 New Assistant Teaching Professor: Jennifer Detlor Written By: Caitlin Scott Departments: Mechanical Engineering Categories: Faculty|Research|Teaching Jennifer Detlor will join the Department of Mechanical Engineering as an Assistant Teaching Professor in January 2023! Detlor’s current research focuses on gas mixture selection for cryogenic cycles. She measures heat transfer coefficients and pressure drop of two-phase multi-component mixtures at cryogenic temperatures. In her new role, Detlor plans to focus her attention on pedagogical research, with particular interest in recruitment and retention of underserved students. Detlor is expected to graduate with her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UW-Madison in August 2022. Her thesis is on Gas Mixture Optimization of a Mixed Gas Joule-Thomson Cryocooler. She is currently a Graduate Research Assistant with advisors John Pfotenhauer and Gregory Nellis.
