Ma is an award-winning researcher whose work focuses on acoustic sensing and acoustic functioning materials. She leads the Acoustic Sensing and Functional Materials (ASFM) Laboratory at UW-Madison which explores systems and functional materials that solve fundamental challenges in acoustic sensing for biomedical imaging/treatment, non-destructive testing, and communication applications.
