Roald is a member of the Wisconsin Power Systems (WISPO) research group, which is focused on electric power systems modeling, optimization and control. Her research within the Energy Systems area focuses on the electric grid and its ability to integrate renewable energy while remaining sustainable. View Professor Roald’s profile video to hear her discuss using data from working solar and wind farms to create computational models. Those models allow Roald to create simulations that illustrate what is occurring on the grid now and help prepare for the impacts of climate change. Focus on Faculty – Line Roald Close Video Professor Roald has earned awards for teaching as well as research. She is an affiliate faculty member of the Wisconsin Electric Machines and Power Electronics Consortium (WEMPEC) which provides education, research and service, while researching and developing the newest technologies in electric machines, power electronics, actuators, sensors, drives, motion control, and drive applications.
