Douglas Wiegmann Wiegmann has applied human factors research to the aviation industry, investigating accidents and improving flight safety, and has expanded his work into healthcare settings. He’s a member of the executive committee for the Wisconsin Institute for Healthcare Systems Engineering. The society, which was founded in 1957 and counts members from more than 50 countries, will honor Wiegmann at its annual meeting, Oct. 28-Nov. 1, 2019 in Seattle.
