December 16, 2022 Lesieutre elected fellow of IEEE Written By: Jason Daley Departments: Electrical & Computer Engineering Categories: Awards|Faculty The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has named Bernard Lesieutre, a professor of electrical and computer engineering, among its 2023 class of fellows. The honor recognizes Lesieutre for his contributions to electric power system dynamic modeling, simulation and power engineering education. Lesieutre’s research interests involve electric energy systems and energy policy including the development of tools to advance the design of reliable electric power systems and energy policies to support system reliability. The IEEE is the world’s foremost professional association for advancing technology for humanity. With more than 400,000 members from 160 countries, the association is a leading authority on a wide variety of areas ranging from aerospace systems, computers and telecommunications to biomedical engineering, electric power and consumer electronics. IEEE fellows comprise the top one-tenth of one-percent of the total membership, an honor bestowed by the Board of Directors only to researchers with outstanding records of accomplishment.
