The section brings together experts from industrial and systems engineering, statistics and business, drawing members from more than 50 countries around the world. Liu studies system informatics and big data analytics, with applications in the natural sciences, manufacturing, climate research, healthcare and more. He has received early career awards from the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the American Society for Quality.
