August 20, 2024 McDonald promoted to associate professor Written By: Casandra Zimmerman Departments: Industrial & Systems Engineering Categories: Faculty|Research|Teaching In recognition of outstanding contributions in research, teaching and mentoring, Dr. Tony McDonald has been promoted to the position of associate professor with tenure. A UW-Madison Alumni (MS 2012; PhD 2014), Dr. McDonald was a faculty member at Texas A&M University prior to joining the faculty of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering in August of 2022. His research work, which focuses on using machine learning and human factors to improve healthcare delivery and transportation safety, has received several prestigious honors, including the 2019 Human Factors Prize and the 2020 Stephanie Binder Young Professional Award.
