December 16, 2022 Meng wins MRS best poster award Written By: Courtney Vafiadis Departments: Materials Science & Engineering Categories: Awards|Technical Staff Jun Meng Jun Meng, a postdoctoral scholar working in the Computational Materials Group with Harvey D. Spangler Professors of Engineering Izabela Szlufarska and Dane Morgan is the winner of the best poster award at the fall 2022 meeting of the Materials Research Society, held in early December in Boston. The poster is titled “Experimentally informed structure optimization of amorphous TiO2 films grown by atomic layer deposition.” The work revealed the medium-range ordering in a-TiO2 thin film and provided a realistic a-TiO2 model for further structure-property studies, but also provided an improved StructOpt optimization package for efficient structure determination of complex materials guided by multiple inputs from experiments and simulations.
