Morgan wins award for solid-state ionics research

The International Society for Solid State Ionics bestowed a prestigious mid-career award upon Dane Morgan, Harvey D. Spangler Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.

Presented at the organization’s annual meeting, held in Pyeongchang, South Korea, on June 20, 2019, the award recognizes Morgan’s innovative and impactful research. Among his numerous contributions to the field, Morgan, a world expert in computational materials science, has revealed key insights into the properties of solid-state ionic conductors, which are key components of energy storage devices such as supercapacitors and solid oxide fuel cells.
