April 18, 2022 New Mechanical Engineering Faculty: Eric Kazyak Written By: Caitlin Scott Departments: Mechanical Engineering Categories: Faculty Eric Kazyak will join the Department of Mechanical Engineering as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2022! Kazyak’s research focuses on building mechanistic understanding of dynamic evolution at electrode/electrolyte interfaces in next-generation batteries, and using that understanding to rationally design interfaces for improved performance. He plans to leverage his experience to explore a range of new directions to lower the cost and environmental impact of energy production and storage. Kazyak completed his PhD and MSc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan in 2020 and is currently wrapping up his postdoctoral fellowship at Michigan.
