June 17, 2022 New Mechanical Engineering Faculty: Ying Li Written By: Caitlin Scott Departments: Mechanical Engineering Categories: Faculty Ying Li will join the Department of Mechanical Engineering as an Associate Professor in Fall 2022! Li’s research group, the Computational Materials Design Laboratory, focuses on developing and applying novel multiscale and multiphysics modeling methods, integrated with machine learning and datascience techniques, to computationally design advanced polymeric materials, with emphasison advanced manufacturing, materials for extreme environments, and sustainable energy solutions. Li earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University in 2015. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Connecticut.
