April 20, 2023 Qin earns SME early career award Written By: Tom Ziemer Departments: Industrial & Systems Engineering Categories: Awards|Faculty Hantang Qin, an assistant professor of industrial and systems engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has been named a 2023 Delcie Durham Young Manufacturing Engineer by the professional society SME. SME, previously known as the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, honored 18 individuals age 35 or younger for their work in the manufacturing field. Qin, who joined the UW-Madison faculty in fall 2022, develops technology for in-space manufacturing, autonomous robots and monitoring for micro and nanoscale manufacturing.
