The American Society for Quality has awarded its 2019 ASQ Feigenbaum Medal to Kaibo Liu, an assistant professor of industrial and systems engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The Feigenbaum Medal honors an individual who is 35 or younger and has demonstrated leadership, professionalism and potential in the field of quality.

Per the citation, Liu received the award “for his fundamental innovations in multisensor degradation modeling for prognostic analysis, his seminal contributions to online measurement and monitoring, and for his significant promotion of the field of quality and reliability through his teaching and service.”

Liu will receive his medal in May at the society’s World Conference on Quality and Improvement in Fort Worth, Texas.
