July 1, 2022 San Miguel and students win best paper award Written By: Jason Daley Departments: Electrical & Computer Engineering Categories: Awards|Faculty|Students Abhishek Bhattacharyya Joshua San Miguel, an assistant professor in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, ECE PhD student Abhishek Bhattacharyya and alumnus Abhijith Somashekhar (MSECE ’21), received the best paper award at the 49th ACM/IEEE International Symposium on Computer Architecture held in New York City in June 2022. Abhijith Somashekhar The winning paper is titled “NvMR: Non-Volatile Memory Renaming for Intermittent Computing.” It addresses the significant challenges in building ultra-low-power processors for battery-less Internet-of-Things devices. “I’m very proud of my students,” says San Miguel. “They deserve so much recognition for this!”
