May 10, 2023 Biomechanics @ 2023 Engineering EXPO Written By: Caitlin Scott Departments: Mechanical Engineering Categories: Community|Research|Students Congratulations to all who participated in the 2023 Engineering EXPO and especially to UW Biomechanics that won first place in the Research Group competition! Ten biomechanics-related labs participated in EXPO and shared 19 total demos with the student attendees. Daniel Pearce The group’s lead organizer and graduate student in the Cardiovascular Biomechanics Lab Daniel Pearce shared, “I enjoyed getting to work with all of the lab representatives throughout the semester and was amazed by the cool demos, the enthusiastic volunteers, and the turnout for our exhibit. Expo is one of my favorite things about UW-Madison and I appreciate getting to share it with this community! This year, our lab representatives helped create learning objective posters for each of our demos. I’m really proud of their initiative with that and think it brought a new dynamic to our exhibit.” Of the research groups, UW Biomechanics took 1st place, Boydston Group took 2nd place, the Design Projects of ECE551 took 3rd place, and Honorable Mention went to the Autonomous & Resilient Controls Lab. The next Engineering EXPO will take place April 19-20, 2024.
