January 6, 2023 Wang receives American Heart Association Award Written By: Courtney Vafiadis Departments: Materials Science & Engineering Categories: Awards|Research|Technical Staff Ruoxing Wang Ruoxing Wang, a postdoctoral scholar working in the lab of Xudong Wang, a professor of materials science and engineering, is the recipient of a two-year American Heart Association Postdoctoral Fellowship. Wang’s project is titled “Hemocompatible and hemodegradable coating material for catheter delivery of flexible film-based intracardiac devices.” Ruoxing Wang specializes in developing nanogenerators which are powered by small movements of the human body and even heartbeats. The Wang group is working on several projects involving these generators, including technologies to monitor heart health and pacemakers that are powered by heartbeats.
