Wisconsin Racing finished the 2026 season with a historic 6th place finish at their annual competition! They proved themselves as one of the nation’s top engineering student teams with a second consecutive 1st place finish in the Design Event, going back-to-back with last year. The multi-award-winning car & overall judge’s favorite vehicle showcased the team’s engineering expertise, featured AWD in-hub motors, the most advanced & validated aerodynamic package in the nation, and a 515V high voltage powertrain. All of these components were student designed, built, and validated.

The student-built electric racecar integrated complex traction control and torque vectoring to allow for actively optimized lap times. These control schemes and an extremely efficient powertrain earned the team a 5th place in the efficiency event. Their in-depth understanding of vehicle dynamics powered the team to a 1st Place finish in the Acceleration Event, setting the event record at Michigan International Speedway (MIS). The vehicle’s precision handling and extreme reliability were shone across the board, securing 3rd in Autocross, 5th in Skid Pad, and a redeeming 10th-place finish in the grueling 22-kilometer Endurance Event. The team is already designing next year’s upgrades.
