Center for Advanced Bioenergy and Bioproducts Innovation

One of the major challenges the world faces is how to provide sustainable sources of energy that meet societal needs as the population continues to grow. The Center for Advanced Bioenergy and Bioproducts Innovation (CABBI), with funding from the Department of Energy, will develop efficient ways to grow bioenergy crops, transform biomass into valuable chemicals, and market the resulting biofuels and other bioproducts.

Developing the scientific and engineering principles to convert biomass and municipal solid waste into demineralized and nitrogen free biogenic pellets using a combination of experimental and computational approaches.​

Center for Dairy Research

The Center for Dairy Research (CDR) offers expertise from more than 30 researchers with over 300 years of combined experience in food and dairy manufacturing. Supported by dairy farmer checkoff dollars, CDR is world leading in product development, contract research, troubleshooting for product and process manufacturing, and training services.

Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center

The Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC) is a U.S. Department of Energy-funded Bioenergy Research Center led by the University of Wisconsin–Madison. With Michigan State University and other partners, we are developing sustainable biofuels and bioproducts made from dedicated energy crops grown on marginal lands. Our mission is simple: creating biofuels and bioproducts that are economically viable and environmentally sustainable.
