Accelerating Timing Closure of IC Design with Heterogeneous Computing and Machine Intelligence

November 3, 2023 @ 12:00 PM 1:00 PM

UW–Madison ECE is excited to welcome Dr. Yibo Lin to share his knowledge and experience. All are welcome.

Location: 4610 Engineering Hall

Abstract: Timing as a performance metric, is always of great concern in integrated circuits (IC). With growing complexity of IC designs and continuous technology scaling, timing analysis becomes extremely time-consuming due to large circuit graphs and complicated device models. Expensive timing analysis also raises the challenges in timing optimization, as it needs to iteratively invoke timing analysis and cross-stage prediction in the design flow. To tackle such challenges, in this talk, we will introduce how to leverage heterogeneous computing and machine intelligence for timing analysis, prediction, and optimization, including heterogeneous and reliability-aware timing analysis, cross-stage timing prediction, and deep learning inspired timing optimization for ASIC and FPGA.
