ECE Virtual Alumni Town Hall

ECE alumni! Please join us for this one-hour virtual event hosted by Interim Department Chair Parmesh Ramanathan. In addition to sharing the latest news from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), we’ll explore how groundbreaking research within ECE at UW–Madison is fueling innovation, entrepreneurship, and the next generation of quantum technologies.

ECE Associate Professor Jennifer Choy will give an introduction to quantum sensing, highlighting how her research uses light–matter interactions, nanoscale photonics, and quantum systems to develop highly precise sensors for applications ranging from navigation and timekeeping to magnetic-field and environmental sensing. Plus, we’ll be joined by ECE alum Sanket Deshpande (PhDECE’25), CEO of Dirac Labs, a Wisconsin-based startup leveraging quantum sensing and nanophotonics research to develop positioning, tracking, and navigation technologies for autonomous vehicles and other applications.
