Alumnus Zak Rottier, Enterprise Data Science Director with American Family Insurance, is our featured Welcome Back, Badger speaker.
After graduating from the UW-Madison Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (BS ’15, MS ’16), Zak Rottier began his career working at American Family Insurance as a Data Scientist and Technology Product Manager. He is currently the Enterprise Data Science and Machine Learning Research Director. In this role, he leads DS/ML research teams with a mission of creating a competitive advantage through innovative ML solutions that scale across enterprise business units.
Zak is also a member of the American Family Insurance Data Science Research Investment Committee, which funds research proposals at UW-Madison.
A former contributor to Professor Laura Albert’s Badger Bracketology program, Zak now hosts his own version of the model, which is a popular tool for formulating NCAA March Madness brackets.
