Enid Simon, who helped oversee the day-to-day operations of Wendt Library for 37 years, passed away on February 23, 2018, at the age of 83. During her many years working for the College of Engineering, Simon played a major role in planning the Kurt F. Wendt Library building and represented the facility on several campus-wide committees. She received the College of Engineering’s Bollinger Academic Staff Award in 1996 in recognition of her 35 years of dedicated and exceptional service. After retiring in 1998, Simon spent many joyful years exploring nature in the backwoods of Wisconsin and seeing the world on trips to England, Greece and Italy. She also applied her acute record-keeping and database management skills toward keeping a complete history of her extended family. Simon is survived by her nieces and nephews.
