Ask an expert: Wireless Industry

1610 Engineering Hall 1415 Engineering Drive, Madison, WI, United States

All students, staff and faculty are invited as ECE welcomes three alumni experts in the wireless industry. This panel, with technical and leadership experience from Verizon Wireless, Keysight Technologies, and Apple, will be moderated by ECE Professor Daniel van der Weide.

CBE Seminar Series: Samanvaya Srivastava

1610 Engineering Hall 1415 Engineering Drive, Madison, WI, United States

This seminar will introduce
oppositely charged triblock polyelectrolytes as additives for precursor solutions that trans-
form the precursor solution into a self-assembled polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) hydrogel with
enhanced shear strength and viscosity, providing interim protection against precursor dilution and mitigating secondary flows.

CBE Seminar Series: Jeffrey Richards

1610 Engineering Hall 1415 Engineering Drive, Madison, WI, United States

This talk will highlight how rheo-electric measurements, the simultaneous acquisition of electrical
properties and rheological data, are essential to discovering the complex interplay between the electron transport and flow-induced dynamics in suspensions of electrically conductive nanoparticles.

Patent Law: What Badger engineers need to know now

1610 Engineering Hall 1415 Engineering Drive, Madison, WI, United States

Students, staff and faculty are all invited as ECE welcomes three alumni who are now attorneys and experts in the area of intellectual property and patent law. This unique panel will be moderated by Stephanie Whitehorse (BSMSE'96) who is the Director of Intellectual Property - Physical Sciences at the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation.

Pizza will be served.

CBE Seminar Series: Michelle Calabrese

1610 Engineering Hall 1415 Engineering Drive, Madison, WI, United States

Using a combination of magnetorheology (MR), small angle neutron and x-ray scattering (SANS/SAXS), and vibrational spectroscopy, we demonstrate that low intensity magnetic fields likely facilitate these phase transitions by altering polymer-solvent interactions and hydrogen bonding, which in turn modify amphiphile packing.
