The University of Wisconsin-Madison faculty competition, open to tenure-track and tenured faculty within 20 years of their tenure date, recognizes outstanding new and ongoing research and provides funding support. Davoodi, a professor of electrical and computer engineering, studies electronic design automation. Masters, a Vilas Distinguished Professor and H.I. Romnes Faculty Fellow in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, creates tissue-engineering models of disease, particularly cardiovascular diseases and various cancers.
