May 2, 2025 Davoodi named Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor Written By: Jason Daley Departments: Electrical & Computer Engineering Categories: Awards|Faculty Azadeh Davoodi, a professor of electrical and computer engineering, is one of 16 recipients of the Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professorship in 2025. The professorship recognizes distinguished scholarship as well as standout efforts in teaching and service by faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The honor provides five years of flexible funding—two-thirds of which is provided by the Office of the Provost through the generosity of the Vilas trustees and one-third provided by the UW-Madison College of Engineering. Davoodi, who joined ECE in 2006, researches machine learning to improve integrated circuit design, design automation for better machine learning, as well as computer aided design for integrated circuits and hardware security. Davoodi’s work has earned her many honors, including an NSF CAREER award, a 2022-2023 Vilas Associates Competition award as well as many best paper awards and nominations at prestigious conferences. She currently serves as ECE’s associate chair of undergraduate studies. See the full list of recipients.
