The Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers will honor Liu with its Dr. Hamed K. Eldin Outstanding Early Career IE in Academia Award at its conference in May 2019. The award goes to individuals who make contributions and show potential in the practice, education and research of industrial engineering early in their academic careers. Liu, who studies system informatics and big data analytics, previously won an early-career award from the American Society for Quality.
