Nhi Lê (MS&E PhD ’19) was selected for Madison365’s annual list of Wisconsin’s most influential Asian American leaders for 2022.

Born in Vietnam and raised in Georgia, Lê studied in the lab of William Murphy, the Harvey D. Spangler Professor in biomedical engineering and a materials science and engineering affiliate. Her research, which resulted in six patents and numerous publications, focused on stem cell engineering and biomanufacturing.

Lê has used that expertise to become a startup and commercialization strategy consultant. Currently, she is an associate at the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation Accelerator, which helps UW-system inventors move commercially promising and urgently needed technologies closer to the marketplace. She is also a deep tech investor at Paeonia Capital, based in Singapore, and Mariton Partners, a venture capital, startup strategy and business consulting firm.
