Kuetemeyer Instructional Laboratory & Donald E. Baldovin Process Operations Laboratory May 2019 Department submits plan to upgrade and expand the CBE instructional lab space. June 2019 Department receives lead gift and receives additional major gifts throughout 2019-2020. Fall 2020-Spring 2021 Develop initial scope and select architects. October 2021 Brick breaking ceremony Dec 2021 Board of Regents approve plans. Spring-Summer 2022 Set up temporary lab on the 4th floor and clear out B103 and B209. Summer of 2022 Post project for bids and select JP Cullen as the General Contractor. Fall 2022 Construction begins. Contractors complete most of the demolition by December 2022 with excavation continuing into January 2023. Spring 2023 Install windows, walls, floors and drains, and finish most mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection. Add roof and masonry walls to B209 and install hoods, lab benches and shelving in B103. Summer 2023 Complete drywall, B209 elevator, and finishing touches, such as metal stairs and railings. Materials start migrating back into B103. Fall 2023 Install air handling unit and a final clean opens up the B103 lab for the first class. Spring 2024 Reconstruction of distillation column and other large equipment starts in B209. Operations Laboratory Construction Students Draft the First Fermentation Lab.
