April 16, 2026 Wilson elected to ANS Board of Directors Written By: Lili Sarajian Departments: Nuclear Engineering & Engineering Physics Categories: Faculty Paul Wilson, Grainger Professor of Nuclear Engineering and Chair of the Department of Nuclear Engineering & Engineering Physics was elected to the American Nuclear Society (ANS) Board of Directors for the 2026-2029 term. This is Wilson’s second election, having served as a board member previously during the 2018-2021 term. ANS is an international professional organization of over 10,000 engineers and scientists devoted to the peaceful advancement and deployment of nuclear sciences and technologies to benefit society. “The ANS has played an important role in my career, so it’s an honor to give back by serving on the Board, especially at such a time of opportunity for the Society,” says Wilson. “I hope I can help steward it to continue playing an important role in the careers of emerging nuclear professionals.” Two additional NEEP faculty members—assistant professors Juliana Pacheco Duarte and JungHyun Bae—were elected to ANS professional divisions. Duarte will serve on the executive committee of the Thermal Hydraulics Division, which is devoted to the advancing and applying the knowledge of thermal hydraulics for the design, operation, and regulation of nuclear technologies. JungHyun Bae will serve on the executive committee of the Young Members Group, helping to empower young members in their professional development.
