Paul Wilson, Grainger Professor of Nuclear Engineering and chair of the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has been elected as a Fellow of the American Nuclear Society (ANS). Fellow is the organization’s highest membership status to which only a small group of nuclear science and engineering professionals are elected.

ANS recognized Wilson for his groundbreaking research in computer-aided design-based tools for simulating particle transport, acceleration of Monte Carlo codes, simulation of transmutation and activation, and fuel cycle analysis.

The society will honor Wilson and the four other newly elected Fellows during the opening plenary of the 2023 ANS Annual Meeting on June 12, 2023.
