Zavala recognized for innovative technology-assisted teaching

Victor Zavala, the Baldovin-DaPra Associate Professor in chemical and biological engineering, is one of 20 outstanding young faculty invited to present at the 2019 Computer Aids for Chemical Engineering (CACHE) conference in Breckenridge, Colorado, July 19-20, 2019. Centered on the theme, “the future of cyber-assisted chemical engineering education,” the 2019 conference marks the 50-year anniversary of the founding of CACHE. Since its inception, CACHE has been at the leading edge of chemical engineering education through sponsorship of conferences and symposia, recognition of top-tier instruction and development and distribution of technology-based materials. With a poster and brief oral presentation titled, “Optimization in chemical and biological engineering using Julia,” Zavala will report on his efforts to enhance student learning.
