ECE and BME students are invited to a very special alumni panel featuring three recipients of the 2026 College of Engineering Early Career Award.
Engineering alums Chris Fernandez, Chairman & CRO (BS BME ’14, MS BME ’15); Nick Glattard, CTO (BS BME ’14, MS BME ’15); and Sam Rusk, CAIO (BS CMPE ’14) began working full time on a company they founded while still at UW–Madison. A decade later, that business, EnsoData, is transforming sleep medicine through the power of artificial intelligence.
EnsoData’s products, including some of the first FDA-cleared machine learning software in healthcare, use AI to improve testing, diagnosis and treatment of medical issues such as sleep apnea. The Madison-based company, which currently has 50 full-time employees, has raised more than $50 million in capital, with plans to apply its data products to problems in other fields of medicine in the near future. It’s mission is to make healthcare more accurate, affordable, and accessible for everyone.
