Introduction to GA quantum program
Event description:
General Atomics’ quantum program is focused on platform deployment, with a 3–5-year horizon for establishing operational benefits. In this sense, we focus on applied research that takes either commercial or demonstration prototypes of technologies and moves them into practical use on aircraft and elsewhere, rather than on fundamental research.
We are particularly interested in PNT-relevant quantum sensing, and secure and efficient free-space communication technologies, such as QKD, Rydberg-atom-based systems, and SQUID-based RF antennas. So far, we have avoided topics such as quantum computing hardware because we believe the time horizon is too long, although the skill sets developed through quantum computing hardware research can be relevant to other areas of quantum research.
