Procter & Gamble Bascom Professor in Total Quality Pascale Carayon and collaborators have published a paper in the January 2019 issue of Applied Clinical Informatics examining physician’s perceptions of electronic patient problem lists used in pediatric trauma care.
Industrial and systems engineering PhD student Bat-Zion Hose was the lead author on the paper, in which the researchers interviewed physicians and identified goals, characteristics and information included in a typical patient problem list. The work could help inform future design of a more useful patient problem list.
Carayon, Hose and Peter Hoonakker, senior scientist at the Center for Quality and Productivity Improvement at UW-Madison, worked with researchers from the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, the University of Illinois and Johns Hopkins University on the study.
