The Harrington Discovery Institute has selected Krishanu Saha, an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, as one of two 2018 Gund-Harrington Scholars. The institute cited Saha’s work using gene editing nanomedicines to correct retinal mutations, which is the focus of a UW2020 project.

The Gund-Harrington Award is a collaboration between the Harrington Discovery Institute at University Hospitals in Cleveland and the Foundation Fighting Blindness to accelerate therapies for retinal degenerative diseases. In addition to providing financial support to recipients, the Harrington Discovery Institute commits drug development and project management support.
