January 26, 2016 Three faculty members inducted into American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering Written By: Webmanager Categories: Awards The American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering College of Fellows represents the top two percent of biomedical scientists working in the United States. In 2016, three UW-Madison faculty members will join the distinguished and selective ranks of AIMBE fellows in recognition of their innovative, field-leading research. Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor of Biomedical Engineering Justin C. Williams received recognition for his contribution to neuroengineering research and commitment to education. Associate Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering and Spangler Faculty Fellow Jennifer Reed was honored for uncovering novel insights in microbial metabolism, which could help develop new approaches for bioremediation or treatments for bacterial diseases. Lynn H. Matthias Professor and Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Hongrui Jiang was selected for his interdisciplinary and biologically inspired approach to developing small-scale surgical imaging systems.
