ISyE researchers receive grant to study IoT-enabled systems

Written By: Silke Schmidt

Several industrial and systems engineering researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have received a $410,000 one-year grant from Toyota Material Handling North America’s University Research Program to develop analysis methods for Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled service systems. The principal investigator for the new project is Raj Veeramani, the Robert Ratner Chair Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. Veeramani is the executive director of the campus-wide UW E-Business Institute and UW E-Business Consortium and the founding director of the UW Internet of Things Lab, a campus hub for collaborations between university and industry researchers on IoT technology and applications. Industrial and Systems Engineering Professor Shiyu Zhou and Assistant Professor Kaibo Liu are co-principal investigators. The project is titled “Data-Driven Failure Predictive Analytics for Internet of Things enabled Service Systems.”
