The University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Engineering is ranked in the top 20 in the nation for graduate programs in nine disciplines in the 2021 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Graduate Schools.”

Those top-20 programs are:

  • Biological/Agricultural—12th (tie)

  • Civil—16th (tie)
  • Computer—14th (tie)

  • Environmental—21st (tie)

The college also earned top-25 spots in two other disciplines—biomedical engineering (tied for 24th) and environmental engineering (tied for 21st)—while tying for 24th in the overall engineering rankings.

The rankings are based on statistical surveys of programs and reputation surveys of deans, program directors, senior faculty members and industry hiring managers.
