UW-Madison’s online engineering graduate programs maintain top 10 ranking

Written By: Colleen Barrett

The University of Wisconsin-Madison ranked sixth among schools offering high-quality online graduate engineering programs by U.S. News & World Report. This is the sixth year in a row UW-Madison has ranked in the top 10.

This important distinction was announced today as U.S. News & World Report released its most recent ranking of online master’s of engineering degree programs, which required eligible programs to pass rigorous standards for quality education in the areas of faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, student engagement, and admissions selectivity.

“What sets our programs apart is the fact our students apply the skills they learn the next day at work,” said James Tinjum, director of UW’s Online Graduate Engineering Degree Programs. “They also learn from sharing success stories with other students in the program, many of which are employed by leading companies around the globe. Our alumni say that our programs are life-changing—both from a work and personal perspective. UW-Madison graduates are confident and ready to advance because they have the knowledge and the credentials to support them.”

This fall, UW–Madison welcomes students into two new engineering master’s degree programs: Manufacturing Systems Engineering, which prepares engineers lead their manufacturing enterprise into the future; and Engineering Data Analytics, which equips engineers to lead data-intensive projects at the intersection of engineering, computer science, and statistics.

The complete line-up of Master of Engineering and Master of Science degree programs include:
