Werner to help lead human factors healthcare group

Nicole Werner, the Harvey D. Spangler Assistant Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering, has been selected as chair-elect of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society’s Health Care Technical Group.

The group is one of 25 within the international society, which draws roughly 4,500 members from academia, industry, government and beyond. The Health Care Technical Group focuses on sharing knowledge around medical systems, patient safety and quality of life.

Werner applies human factors engineering and ergonomics approaches to healthcare systems, examining care transitions, patient safety, home care, health information technology and more.
