Zhou lands NSF grant for structural fault research

Shiyu Zhou, a professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, recently received a nearly $245,000 grant from the National Science Foundation for research aimed at improving the diagnosis and prognosis of faults in mechanical structures and civil infrastructure.

The three-year project will use a combination of physical modeling, computational intelligence and sensor-structure interaction.
