January 11, 2022 Eliceiri named SPIE fellow Written By: Tom Ziemer Departments: Biomedical Engineering Categories: Awards|Faculty|Research Kevin Eliceiri, an associate professor of biomedical engineering and medical physics, has been honored as a fellow of SPIE, the leading international society for optics and photonics researchers. Eliceiri, who develops imaging instrumentation and technology, including computational imaging techniques, to study the cellular microenvironment, is among 58 new SPIE fellows from around the world. He previously was elected a fellow of The Optical Society. Eliceiri holds the Retina Research Foundation Walter H. Helmerich Professor through the McPherson Eye Research Institute at UW-Madison. He is also the founding director of the Laboratory for Optical and Computational Instrumentation and an investigator at the Morgridge Institute for Research, where he directs the Fab Lab.
