“I’m honored to be among those selected for this prestigious award,” Breen says. “It’s important to find ways to empower my generation and future generations to develop the next set of manufacturing professionals that will carry the torch.”

Breen received his undergraduate degree in manufacturing engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2009, and his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from UW-Madison in 2011. Breen’s professional experience encompasses teaching at tech schools and universities, and working for various manufacturers and engineers across the world, before starting his own company, Breen Machine Automation Services, three years ago.

“My goal is to help people and organizations grow and succeed,” Breen says. “I’ve been able to do that by sharing my automation expertise, sometimes as an engineer and sometimes as an advisor or teacher. I’m always looking for ways to make industry professionals’ jobs easier and more efficient.”

His company, based in Madison, Wisconsin, provides a variety of services to the manufacturing industry, including engineering, consulting, training and programming. As part of Breen’s training services, he has developed virtual courses to share real-world skills with people in industry.

Breen will be among 30 award recipients who will be recognized at an event in Chicago in spring 2019.
