In May 2017, graduate student Dongting Zhao won the “best poster” award for her poster “Butene oligomerization over cobalt catalysts: effect of ammoniation temperature,” which she presented at the Catalysis Club of Chicago’s spring meeting. The club is a nonprofit organization of scientists and engineers in the Chicago area dedicated to advancing knowledge in the fields of catalysis and reaction mechanisms, and to fostering discussion among the club’s members. Zhao is co-advised by Harvey D. Spangler Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering George Huber and Ive Hermans, associate professor of CBE and chemistry.
