In the 2018 edition of U.S. News & World Report‘s “Best Graduate Schools,” several engineering programs ranked highly.
Not all programs are ranked every year; this year, ranked specialties include chemical engineering (sixth), computer engineering (ninth), industrial/manufacturing/systems engineering (eighth) and nuclear engineering (third). The College of Engineering graduate program ranked No. 18 overall.
“The unwavering commitment by our faculty to their disciplines and their graduate students is reflected by these rankings,” says William Karpus, dean of UW–Madison’s Graduate School. “The continued strong position in the rankings for a large number of our graduate education programs demonstrates the prominence of our faculty in terms of research and scholarship and our commitment to educate the next generation of thought leaders.”
