U.S. News and World Report released its annual rankings of the nation’s top graduate programs, and UW-Madison placed 20th overall for engineering. This year, 11 individual disciplines within the College of Engineering earned top-20 spots among the rankings, including biological/agricultural (14th), biomedical/bioengineering (21st), chemical (seventh), civil (16th), computer (13th), electrical/electronic/communications (15th), environmental/environmental health (17th), industrial/manufacturing/systems (seventh), materials (14th), mechanical (16th), and nuclear (fifth). Not all programs are ranked every year. The rankings are based on assessments by academic peers, feedback from hiring managers, student selectivity, and faculty resources. The full listings may be found at U.S. News and World Report here.
